Kevin Harvick and Kyle Busch picked up wins in their respective qualifying races Thursday putting them in the second row behind Danica Patrick and Jeff Gordon. The rest of the field is set so now there is just the wait. "America's Race", the Daytona 500 is set to start just after 1 on Sunday afternoon and NASCAR fans around the world will be glued to their TV sets. Here is the starting lineup.

Danica Patrick has made history again. Patrick became the first woman to win the pole at any race in NASCAR's top circuit. Patrick set the mark with a lap at 196.434 mph and will be on the pole for the Daytona 500 next Sunday.

It was too little too late for 5-time Sprint Cup champion Jimmie Johnson as Brad Keselowski held off #48 to win hjs first NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship today at Homstead-Miami Speedway. It was also the first Cup championship for legendary owner Roger Penske. Entering the final race with a 20-point lead Keselowski was helped by a gamble that didn't pan out for Johnson.
It was a wild time at Phoenix International Raceway Sunday but when the smoke cleared and the fighting stopped Kevin Harvick emerged with the checkered flag and Brad Keselowski the Chase For the Sprint Cup points lead. Jimmie Johnson's blown tire resulted in his fall from the top spot but most of the talk was about the Jeff Gordon-Clint Bowyer dust-up.
Sunday's NASCAR race in Phoenix ended wildly as the pit crews from Jeff Gordon and Clint Bowyer brawled in the garage after a wreck during the race. Gordon stayed on the track after being black flagged and intentionally wrecked Bowyer sparking the melee. Watch video of the unbelievable scene
Jimmie Johnson nipped Brad Keselowski by less than a second to win his fifth race of the season, the Texas AAA 500, and maintain his point lead in NASCARS Chase For the Sprint Cup. The green-white-checkered flag finish puts Johnson in a good position to capture his 6th championship with two races left.
It was double the fun for Jimmie Johnson Sunday as he not only took the checkered flag at the Tums Fast Relief 500 at Martinsville but the points lead in NASCAR's Chase For the Sprint Cup. With 3 races left to go Johnson now leads Brad Keselowski by 3 points.
Dale Jr. will return to the track this weekend in Martinsville after being forced to sit out the last 2 races due to concussion symptoms.
Matt Kenseth picked up his second win in three weeks Sunday taking the Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway, the 6th race in NASCARS Chase For the Sprint Cup. Martin Truex Jr. placed second with Paul Menard third. The race on the slick, repaved Kansas Speedway surface was a wild one.
