MWPAI Arts Festival Continues Through July 4 [PHOTOS]

Yesterday, I was able to visit the Munson-Williams-Procotr Arts Institute Sidewalk Art Show part of the Institute's Arts Festival. And, I have to say, the artistic talent that we have in this area is beyond amazing. I looked around for a while and the photos, paintings, drawings and sculptures are great. I was fortunate enough to have my photo accepted into the art show this year. And, I was very excited to see it hanging up for all to see.

Your first reaction to this headline may be what is the Hot Club of Cowtown? They're a 3 piece Austin Western Swing band described as "the most globetrotting, hardest-playing Western swing trio on the planet." Think Bob Wills mixed with Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan. The trio is made up of Elana James, Whit Smith and Jake Erwin. And while the name is obviously synonymous with Texas, Elana and Whit actually formed the group when they met through the Village Voice in New York. They play at the Munson Williams Proctor Arts Institute this Saturday, October 1. You can buy tickets here. But rather than me describing their style, check out some of their videos.
