Record Store Day

I read an article from YNN that said that yesterday, Saturday, was national Record Store Day. How did I miss it? I grew up collecting 45's and LP's and would haunt the local record departments in Woolworth's, the State Street Mill , Stars in Yorkville and , later, The Last Unicorn. When I moved to LA there was a place on Hollywood Boulevard called Tower Records that had everything. Now finding a store that specializes in vinyl is a challenge. There is, however, one that I know of in Utica that is a real treat to visit.

Just as we were about to put Jamie O'Neal into our "Whatever Happened To" file there comes word that she has formed her own record label, Momentum Label Group. According to her website Jamie--whose hits earlier in the decade included "There Is No Arizona" and "When I Think About Angels"--has teamed up with a number of experienced music industry veterans who share her interest in finding and developing fresh new talent.
