I've always been fascinated with the Titanic and still watch all those shows on TV about new theories on how it sunk. Maybe you attended the Big Frog 104's "Titanic Experience" on the 99th Titanic Anniversary this past April at the Stanley Theater, in downtown Utica.
November 16, 2011 A sad day for " Oz" Fans. One of the last "Munchkins" from "The Wizard of Oz" film, Karl Slover, died at age 93. My daughter Lauren is a big "Oz" fan and met Mr. Slover (as seen in the photo) this past June at Oz-Stravaganza in Chittenango. Notice the resemblance? (No, not Karl Slover and me, my daughter and me).
November 16, 2011 Another anniversary during the "Frog Days of Fall". Harry Potter is quite the hero in the McShea household. We've seen all the movies, have most of them on DVD, and some of us have read all the books (don't look at me). Maybe you're into Harry Potter as well, and ten years ago today, Harry made his leap from the book to the big screen with his first film of the series.
November 7, 2011 Everybody loves the Muppets! Coming soon in the "Frog Days of Fall", on November 23, the Muppets return to the big screen with their new movie entititled: "The Muppets". This should be a fun family film, debuting the day before Thanksgiving and running through the holiday season.
October 31, 2011 I have to admit I'm not big on "fantasy" movies. The one exception to my rule has always been "Field of Dreams", the Kevin Costner film about baseball, dreams realized and father-son relationships. That's why I was happy to hear that the Dyersville, Iowa baseball field that served as the backdrop in the movie would be kept, according to ESPN, as is. The property which also includes a 2-bedroom house, 6 outbuildings and 193 acres of mostly cornfields was recently sold for $5.4 million.
October 26, 2011 With "Paranormal Activity 3" setting box office records this week my thoughts turned to the scariest movies of all time. These don't necessarily have to be horror, monster or slasher flicks but can just be a tense drama. According to MSN the scariest movie of all time is Alfred Hitchcock's "Psycho" followed by "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre". The list of the 50 scariest includes movies old and new.
