January 10, 2013 My wife and I are Trekkers (that's the proper word, not Trekkies), so when a new Star Trek film is on the way, we're excited about it. Even though "Star Trek, Into Darkness" doesn't open until May 17th, for Trekkers that means it's almost here! We're both fans of the "classic cast" featuring William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy (Kirk and Spock), so we're even more interested in the new films as the story line is about the early days of those characters.

However when looking over my favorites for the year 2012 I noticed that there was a rare--for me--mix of commercial hits mixed in with the small, indie films I tend to enjoy. My "Top 5" in no particular order for 2012.
December 6, 2012 They electrified audiences with their singing and dancing in the 1978 musical "Grease" and now they're back. John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John, "Danny and Sandy" themselves, are back with a new Christmas charity album called "This Christmas". A video for the single "I Think You Might Like It" has been released and while the dancing may not be up to "Grease" standards we think you'll find it fun. Check it out along with a classic performance from "Grease".

November 19, 2012 The other day when I was at the gym I saw on one of the TV's a young man reviewing the latest James Bond movie "Skyfall". Actually, I had seen him several times before and was impressed by his poise and maturity. So I did a little investigating. It turns out that he is 14-year old--that's right, 14--Jackson Murphy and he does family and kid movie reviews every Saturday on YNN. Take a look and you'll be astonished at just how confident and polished he is on the air.
