Martina McBride to Headline Grand Ole Opry Concert for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

The color pink isn’t something most people normally associate with the Grand Ole Opry, but in October, to help spread awareness of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, country’s most venerable institution will be going pink for the third straight year.

Martina McBride has been announced as the headliner for the third annual Opry Goes Pink concert, to be held October 22 in support of Women Rock for the Cure.

The Muscular Dystrophy Association Telethon, without Jerry Lewis this year, raised more than $61 million.  That's up $2.6 million from last year.  Lady Antebellum, Darius Rucker and Martina McBride took part in the annual Labor Day telethon.  Martina gave an amazing rendition of 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow' from the Grand Ole Opry.  Check out the video.

 Martina McBride's video for her new song "I'm Gonna Love You Through It" is tugging at heart strings.  Good Morning America anchor Robin Roberts became emotional after airing the video, that focuses on cancer.

Fifth Grade Chorus Make Martina McBride Cry With “Anyway” [VIDEO]

Martina McBride was so moved by the YouTube video of the P.S 22 Chorus covering her song "Anyway," she had to Tweet about it.  She wrote "This brought tears to my eyes.  Their singing is beautiful.  So are the looks on their faces and how much they feel the song."

The kids are fifth graders at a school in Staten Island, New York and have quite a celebrity following, including Oprah and Lady Gaga.

Christmas Goes Country

ABC is ringing in the holidays with some country Christmas.  Jennifer Nettles will host the CMA Country Christmas special tonight which includes a number of stars sharing their traditions and memories.  Highlights include a clip of a 12 year old Brad Paisley singing the first song he ever wrote, "Born on Christmas Day."  He'll also sing with Sheryl Crow.  Rascal Flatts, Kellie Pickler, Darius Rucker, Reba, Martina McBride, Little Big Town also stopped by to help ring in the holidays.  It's on ABC at 9:30pm.  Want a sneek peek?
