We're in the deep freeze here in central New York these days with temperatures below zero and in the single digits. So, it's time to get out the "How cold is it?" jokes. Nobody was better at those than the late Johnny Carson, but our current batch of late night hosts have a pretty good collection going.

It was 19 years ago tonight, May 22, 1992, that we last heard Ed McMahon say, "Heeeerrreee's Johnny". After some 30 years and 4, 531 shows Johnny Carson pulled down the curtain as host of "The Tonight Show". His topical humor, unforgettable comedic sketches and interviews with everyone from kings and Presidents to oddball characters from every walk of life kept us entertained late at night in our bedrooms and provided a sense of security and continuity.
