July 1, 2011 It was 1956 and Elvis Presley was the hottest new singer in America. His combination of country, blues and rock and roll along with an expressive way of presenting it on stage had captivated a nation. TV host Steve Allen was not a fan. After signing Elvis to appear on his highly rated show he insisted that Elvis not only tone down his presentation but perform his new song "Hound Dog" in a most unusual manner.
