They're a 3 piece Austin Western Swing band described as "the most globetrotting, hardest-playing Western swing trio on the planet."  Think Bob Wills mixed with Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan.  The trio is made up of Elana James, Whit Smith and Jake Erwin.  And while the name is obviously synonymous with Texas, Elana and Whit actually formed the group when they met through the Village Voice in New York.  They play at the Munson Williams Proctor Arts Institute this Saturday, October 1.   You can buy tickets here.  But rather than me describing their style, check out some of their videos.
