Someone is waving to somebody directly behind you, and you think the person is waving to you. And, even though you have no idea who the person is, you wave to be friendly, only to find out the person was waving to the person behind you the whole time. You think, "Well, that was awkward." This video shoes another awkward moment. When you go to shake someones hand, but they actually want to shake the hand of the person behind you. Although, I do have to say, after watching this "missing a handshake prank" I feel bad for the people. They look so excited to shake hands with someone only to be ignored.

Either your hands don't meet in the right spot, causing one of you shake fingers instead of a hand. Or, when you go for a handshake, the other person throws out a fist for a fist bump and you don't have time to change your hand positioning. You both know it's awkward, but nobody says a word about it. Here's a funny video about "Handshake Awareness." After watching the video, I have been in the same awkward handshake scenario.
