One sure sign that the economy is enjoying a slow but steady recovery is the news that the beloved "Tooth Fairy" (As pictured here with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson from the movie) has been increasing her payoffs for those lost baby teeth. The Business Wire reports that the average reward for a lost tooth rose 15% between 2011 and 2012. The average amount varies depending on the order of tooth loss.

If you have ever experienced nitrous oxide or "laughing gas" while having a dental procedure you know that reality can be an elusive thing for a while. A North Carolina teenager has turned into the poster girl for post procedure fantasies after her mother posted a video of her emerging from a nitrous haze after having her wisdom teeth removed. All I can say is she must be a HUGH Harry Potter fan.

Is it just me, or is the dentist's chair the worst place to sit? I guess it all depends on your childhood experiences. My daughter loves to go. But she had a great dentist and received a prize out of the prize chest every time she went. I, on the other hand had a dentist who should have retired in 1970 and didn't use novocaine. And I had a number of cavities as a kid. It wasn't until I was in my early 20s I received my first shot to get a cavity filled.
