Cooking Corn On The Cobb On The Grill
We love homegrown sweet corn on the cobb in the McShea household during the "Frog Days of Summer". By now, a lot of our local farm stands and farmers' markets have great homegrown corn available.

These are the Frog Days of Summer, and maybe your vacation week is coming up. Or, you might just be heading to a local beach for a day trip or camping.
You remember that old saying, "I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream,". Well, July is National Ice Cream Month, and as Big Frog 104 has a number of dairy farmers listening (we are very big with the cows in the barn), we have a lot of local and regional ice cream companies making it that good old-fashioned way.
Remember years ago, when you'd walk into a pharmacy only to be greeted by a cut out of a young female in a bikini boasting how to get that deep, dark, tropical tan? I still remember all those suntan lotions and creams, and how little jars of cocoa butter would melt at the beach and make everything smell like coconut in your picnic basket.
One of my favorite outings over the years was taking our college-bound kids on college visitations. We would pack a lunch for the car (as always), and head out for a scheduled visit to this college campus or that. If you have a recent high school grad in the family, you may be making such trips during the "Frog Days of Summer".
The hot weather is upon us during the "Frog Days Of Summer" as we approach mid July, and it means no jackets needed for tonight's Utica Monday Nite. There's plenty of outdoor activities and entertainment to keep you cool.
One of the premiere events of the Frog Days of Summer is The Utica Boilermaker Road Race, and it's this Sunday. Of course, runners and and participants always look forward to Boilermaker end of race party, hosted at the F.X. Matt Brewery in Utica.
As runners know, hydration is important in keeping your stamina, especially during the hot summer days. With Boilermaker Sunday almost here, I thought that some news on hydration might be of interest to you.

The "Frog Days of Summer" are well underway, now that most kids are home for summer vacation. Any day now, parents everywhere will hear those two dreaded words from those at-home kids, "I'm bored".
