November 11, 2011 The "Frog Days of Fall" are filled with eventful dates, and today is one of the most important. Today we observe Veterans Day, and we at Big Frog salute veterans who have served and continue to serve our country, many who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
November 10, 2011 Yes, another celebrity birthday during the "Frog Days of Fall". Today, Miranda Lambert celebrates her 28th birthday, in what has been a very eventful year. Not only has she won numerous awards, but she tied the knot with husband Blake Shelton this past spring. And just last night, Miranda won Female Vocalist of the Year, while husband Blake Shelton won Male Artist of The year at this year's 2011 CMA Awards. (Obviously, they're well matched).
November 9, 2011 'Tis the season during the "Frog Days of Fall" to start thinking of colder weather, the holidays and Saranac seasonal beers. Now my alma mater, the F.X. Matt Brewery has the "12 Beers of Winter" available at stores throughout the northeast. I like to promote new products and events at the brewery, as it is a significant local employer and an important part of our community and local economy (and they make great beers and soft drinks).
November 9, 2011 Carl Sagan, astronomer and biologist was born on this day in 1934 and would have been 77 years old today. He died in 1996 but left behind a mountain of fascinating books and television episodes about the universe.
Carl Sagan was one of my heroes; I've read all of his books, have his 13 part award-winning PBS series "Cosmos" on a DVD collection, and I even met and talked with him many years ago. Now, during the "Frog Days of Fall", I thought it would be a good idea to take a look at that series, "Cosmos", which first aired in 1980.
November 9, 2011 I was thinking the other day about words. We certainly say a lot of words on Big Frog 104, and our personal choice of words may indicate our age. So, during these "Frog Days of Fall", when the sun sets a little earlier every night, I had some time to think about words.

The "Frog Days of Fall" are rapidly moving along, and Election Day is a sure sign that we're on our way to Thanksgiving and all the rest. If you are registered, we encourage you to vote. According to the Oneida Country Board of Elections, polls are open from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m.
November 7, 2011 The "Frog Days of Fall" mean that colder winter weather is on the way, and with that, the holiday shopping season and not enough time to get it all done. How about a little stress relief from a little stand up comedy.
November 7, 2011 Everybody loves the Muppets! Coming soon in the "Frog Days of Fall", on November 23, the Muppets return to the big screen with their new movie entititled: "The Muppets". This should be a fun family film, debuting the day before Thanksgiving and running through the holiday season.
November 4, 2011 One of my favorite aspects of the "Frog Days of Fall" is college football, and with a number of local colleges, we have plenty of good games to follow. Checking our latest Frogcast for the weekend, temperatures should be in the mid 50s on Saturday with sunny skies - perfect football weather. And, let's wish our local high schools good luck in their upcoming weekend games!

Now during phase two of the "Frog Days of Fall", we notice that November is National Peanut Butter month. How many school lunches have been packed over the years with peanut butter and/or peanut butter and jelly sandwiches?
