Whenever I check my Facebook page I notice that the entries are pretty predictable. My younger "friends" post party pictures and updates on their social life. Parents with young kids post a lot of pictures of the children while my older friends post comments on the weather or their travels.A study by Stephen Wolfram found that Facebook topics do change with age. The news report from UPI that Facebook does not owe anything in taxes and is getting a $429 million refund is bound to stoke the fires of those saying that tax loopholes for the very wealthy need to be re-examined. There are good ideas and then there's this idea. It's the bald barbie for kids who have cancer. Brilliant!

The parents of little girls with cancer are petitioning Mattel to make a bald Barbie, to remind young cancer patients they can still be pretty without hair.

A petition has sprung up on Facebook and it had more than 32,000 'likes.' So far, Mattel has yet to respond to the request. Is this a good idea?

CBS News recently cited a Consumer Reports study that found that of the 20 million minors who use Facebook over one third were under 13 and a quarter were under 10 , this despite Facebook's policy of blocking anyone under 13 years of age.

Despite the whining about the launch of their “top stories” feature this week, Facebook unveiled and even bigger change at the company’s F8 developer conference in San Francisco: Timeline.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that profile pages will soon automatically put photos, videos, status updates and status changes in chronological order. The timeline will also feature a “way back” section, which allows users to insert material from their pre-Facebook days.
