Dick Clark was a man that tied fans of all genres of music together, so the news of his death is a hard pill to swallow for many. For almost 40 years, fans of rock, rap, pop and country music would tune in to watch “America's oldest teenager” count in the new year.

It was definitely sad to hear of Dick Clark's passing on Wednesday. With his broadcast career beginning in Utica in the 1940s, he had done so much over the years for the entertainment world, especially in the realm of music. Clark was host on one of the best known music shows of all time 'American Bandstand,' which was on the air from 1952 to 1989--with Clark as host beginning in 1956. And, over the years the show was broadcast, many famous country stars appeared on the show.
