Why Do Country Singers Sing With Accents But Not Pop/Rock Singers?
If you listen to Bono, Eric Clapton or any other European artist in an interview, they have a thick accent that just magically disappears when they sing... How come Chris Young, Josh Turner, Scotty McCreery and others still have that Southern twang no matter if they're speaking or singing? And how do you explain the disappearing accent anyway?
As a vocalist and instructor I can speak from experience with this one… It all comes down to vowels
