December 24, 2012 There have been different takes on the traditional "12 Days of Christmas" song. One that comes to mind is Jeff Foxworthy's "12 Redneck Days of Christmas". Comedian Norm McDonald has a very funny version that is definitely "for the birds". Check it out!
December 22, 2012 A lot has changed since 1991, some 21 years ago. Back then we were "Jumpin' Country 96 Frog", still finding its way into Central New York's listening habits and "Christmas In the Mohawk Valley" had just been released to overwhelmingly popular support. Written and performed by local musician Mark Werchowski and a "few good friends" it struck a chord, a chord that still resonates to this day. Check out this video put together last year as a 20th anniversary remembrance.

December 20, 2012 And now for something completely different. A few years ago, singer-songwriter legend Bob Dylan recorded his first Christmas album entitled "Christmas In The Heart" under the name of Jack Frost. All Dylan's royalties on the album were donated to charities. I was so amazed to hear about this that I bought the CD. One of the original songs on the album of holiday favorites is a Polka called "Must Be Santa".
December 17, 2012 We have the sights of the season such as colorful Christmas decorations and the sounds of the season with Christmas carols seemingly everywhere. But how about the smells of the season. Fabreeze, Proctor and Gambles popular deodorizer and fragrance product, has released a survey in which they asked people about their favorite and least favorite holiday season smells. The results aren't all that surprising.

December 6, 2012 One of our favorite family traditions is going to see the Players Of Utica production of "Scrooge" at the Stanley Center For The Arts in Utica. Just about every year, I attend with at least one family member for a festive musical version of the Charles Dickens classic "A Christmas Carol", featuring Ebeneezer Scrooge.

December 4, 2012 Winter weather or not, there's a winter concert scheduled tonight at Hamilton College. The Masterworks Chorale and Orchestra will perform tonight from 7:30 a.m. - 9:30 p.m. at Wellin Hall on the Clinton Campus, and admission is $6.00 - $8.00 for non students.
