Zac Brown Auctioning Off Truck For Charity

Zac Brown is the latest country artist to team up with Ram Trucks to raise money for charity. Zac is auctioning off the 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn that's he's been tooling around in the last three months with the proceeds going to his Camp Southern Ground charity project. He's hoping to raise as much as these country stars have done with their auctions.

Salvation Army Looking For Red Kettle Bell Ringers

Once again this year the Salvation Army of Utica is in need of bell ringers to help the organization raise money for its many programs.

Keith Hernandez is known for two things. First and foremost as a star first baseman for the New York Mets from 1983 to 1989. Secondly as having one of the best mustaches in all of sports. However the famed Hernandez 'stache is no more. According to CBS, Hernandez had his famed "tickler" lopped off for charity, specifically the Jacqueline Hernandez Adult Day Health Center in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn, named for Keith’s mother. It seems like every year this controversy erupts anew. Target department stores initiated a policy back in 2004 that does not allow for Salvation Army kettle bell ringers to solicit in front of their stores. It all comes down to parsing the word "solicit". Does standing in front of a store ringing a bell qualify as "soliciting"? Here is Targets take.

'Secret Santa' Hands Out $20G To Needy In Reading, PA [VIDEO]

An anonymous "Secret Santa" gave away $20 thousand dollars of his own money, mostly in $100 bills, to needy residents of the economically hard hit city of Reading, Pennsylvania Tuesday night. According to the Reading Eagle the "Secret Santa" was accompanied by police to various locations such as shelters, goodwill shops and bus stations.

Sugarland is well known for performing "unique" cover songs during their shows including hits by The B-52's, Kings of Leon and REM among others. Now according to Amnesty International they are contributing a live performance of Bob Dylan's "Tonight I'll Be Staying Here With You" to a Dylan tribute collection--a 4-CD set--to be released in January, 2012. If you attended their September 4th show at the New York State Fair you got an advance hearing of the song. Sugarland is continuing to take its humanitarian efforts global as they have announced via their website that they will perform at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert December 11 in Oslo, Norway. The Nobel concert comes close on the heels of Jennifers visit to Guatemala on behalf of the Shalom Foundation, an organization that provides humanitarian aid to the poor in that Central American country. Jennifer and Kristian have been donating a dollar of every ticket sale to Shalom for several years.
