If you like cartoons, then you'll want to know that on this day in 1962, the animated TV series, "The Jetsons" debuted on ABC-TV. And, it was the very first ABC TV show to be broadcast in color. Yes, a show broadcast in color was a big deal back then.

Maybe you grew up on it, or as in my case, my kids grew up on it. I'm talking about the animated TV show, "Scooby-Doo". On this day in 1969, Scooby-Doo debuted on CBS TV.

Back in "my day" you got up early on Saturday mornings for your only chance to catch cartoons.  Back in Robert McKimson Sr.'s day, you went to the theater for your only chance to see cartoons.  Robert was the man who created Foghorn Leghorn, The Tazmanian Devil and many other Looney Tune Cartoon Characters.  He also drew the Bugs Bunny we know today.

As you know, Father's Day is this Sunday, and as a dad, I'm looking forward to a relaxing day (glad I mowed the lawn Wednesday night). I'm sure that we'll all be honoring dads one way or another, and there are some famous dads that many of us know.
