No Thruway Toll Increase For Trucks

The New York State Thruway Authority is heeding the call for a more business friendly environment in rejecting a proposed 45% increase in toll charges for trucks. As reported by our sister station WIBX Governor Cuomo said that Thruway savings will come from cost savings rather than toll increases. The move was hailed by business leaders.

New Process Gear Closes After 124 Years

Another long standing manufacturing concern has closed its doors. New Process Gear in Syracuse which, according to YNN, once employed nearly 4,000 workers closed up shop for good last Thursday. The auto parts manufacturer announced it was closing three years ago and has been downsizing its workforce ever since. The plant closure is more than just the end of an era.
