Country girl Skylar Laine is around for another week on American Idol after sailing through with her rendition of Bonnie Raitt's 'Love Sneaking Up on You.' But the bottom three this week were all girls. Erka Van Pelt, Elise Testone and Shannon Magrane fell short but it came down to Shannon singing for her life to earn the sole save from the judges. Was her performance good enough?
Jermaine Jones' time on American Idol is coming to an abrupt end. He'll be sent home after tonight's performance. TMZ reports, Jones was first accused of making up a story about an estranged dad to get the sympathy vote. His father, who Jones' said left 10 years ago, says he sees his son frequently and was even in the audience last week. That led producers to dig into Jermaine's past. They discovered he lied by not disclosing he was arrested twice last year, one that involved violence. Jones reportedly gave phony names during both arrests and has outstanding warrants.
Reality television has America singing. There are more singing competitions on television than any other show. Star Search was the one that really got it all started with Ed McMahon in 1983. The talent show ran until 1995

Ever since we first met Skylar Laine, her ‘American Idol‘ performances have exploded like rock-infused country music firecrackers. She stomps around the stage, with a spring in her step and a twang in her voice like a mini Reba. While we love when she does her thang, it was time for us to see and hear something different and new from her.
Each week on the remaining episodes of ‘American Idol‘ Season 11, one unfortunate hopeful will have to leave the stage for good. Rather than making that moment more awkward with silence or a peppy pop song spinning in the background, ‘Idol’ commissioned last season’s winner Scotty McCreery to record the farewell song to make it a memorable moment. McCreery chose to do a cover of Tim McGraw‘s 1999 hit, ‘Please Remember Me.’
America has spoken. The Top 13 on American Idol is set and country girl Skylar Laine is among them. Will she follow in last year's winner Scotty McCreery's footsteps? Who else moved on and who was sent home? The Top 5 girls and Top 5 boys automatically went through. It was then up to the judges to pick 3 wild cards after singing for their life. The Top 10 according to America were:

'The pressure of Hollywood week on American Idol always takes it toll. Contestants were literally dropping off during the group performances. Two fainted before their group even took the stage. Neither made it through to the next round. Those that survived the group rounds were asked to return to the stage for solo performances. A number stood out including country girl Skylar Laine who sang The Band Perry's 'You Lie.' Judge Steven Tyler said she was one of the best he'd heard all day.
American Idol's infamous Hollywood week is known for taking its toll and this season is no different. The stress hit some hopefuls harder than others. Symone Zaire Black started her time on stage with an impressive version of Otis Redding's '(Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay.' But soon after, she stumbled, almost looking drunk, and fell off the stage. Of course the show ended before we learned what happened to her.
