Syracuse had one of the worst winters on record. No surprise to anyone who lives through it. The Weather Channel ranked the 5 worst and Syracuse came in at #5.

It wasn't just the snow, it was the cold temperatures too. February was the coldest on record, with an average temperature of 9 degrees in Syracuse. It hasn't dipped that low since the Great Depression in 1934. February was also the second snowiest month in history with 60 inches. A record was set for 19 straight days of over 2 feet of snow on the ground. Syracuse actually saw a trace of snow falling for 40 days in a row.

Fast Facts:
- February 2015: Coldest month on record dating to 1903
- Second snowiest February: 60 inches
- Record 19 straight days with over 2 feet of snow on the ground (through March 9)

Despite Syracuse having the second snowiest February on record, the Village of Copenhagen saw more snow than anywhere else in America with over 21 feet. That's more than. 252 inches! By the way, Buffalo had an honorable mention for the epic storm last November.

No surprise Boston came in at #1 with 108.6 inches of snow, 64.8 in February alone.
