Syracuse Alum, Survivor Contestant Dan Kay Dies

Syracuse University alum and Survivor contestant Day Kay has died. Kay passed away unexpectedly December 31st according to his obituary. He was only 40 years-old.

He enjoyed running, skiing, listening to music, and attending Crossway Christian Church. Dan had a smile that could light up a room. His desire to be challenged and his quest for adventure lead to his participation on the reality show, Survivor.

Survivor host Jeff Probst and former contestants tweeted their condolences.

Kay was born in Norwood, Massachusetts on June 30th 1976 but earned a law degree from Syracuse University after receiving his bachelor's degree from UMass-Amherst.

He was voted off 8th while appearing on Survivor: Gabon.
