While you're changing the time on all the clocks in your house, you should also check your batteries in smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. It could save your life.

'Check Your Batteries Day' was created to remind you to take care of another household chore, checking the batteries in devices designed to save your life. Smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors can't help you if the batteries are dead. You can also take this a step further and change batteries in the remote controls, toys, and whatever else uses batteries in your home.

The National Fire Protection Association has a page called Smoke Alarm Central with more information. Have you met Dan Doofus? His name says it all as you'll see.
