Did you happen to catch some weird lights in the sky over Barneveld? David Gresack was out delivering papers an happened to catch these strange lights.

David writes:

I was very fascinated this morning by it, seemed too awkward to just keep driving past."

These lights were seen around 5AM over Barneveld New York. David delivers the Utica OD and mentioned this isn't the first time something strange was spotted in the skies:

I always see weird things, but this was something else. It was there all morning, that wasn't the only one, there was another more faint beam to the left of it too. "

Do you have any idea what in the world it could be?

One possibility is a "Sun Pillar". For those that don't know what that means, here's a definition:

A sun pillar is a vertical shaft of light extending upward or downward from the sun. Typically seen during sunrise or sunset, sun pillars form when sunlight reflects off the surfaces of falling ice crystals associated with thin, high-level clouds (like cirrostratus clouds)."

NASA featured an amazing photo of light pillars in Alaska just the other day.
