You probably know the story, Francis Scott Key was watching the British bomb Fort McHenry on the night of September 13, 1814.  When he awoke the next morning and saw the "Star Spangled Banner" still waving he was moved to write a poem.  Do you have a favorite rendition of the National Anthem?  Two come to my mind almost instantly.

Faith Hill's rendition at the Super Bowl still makes the hair on my arm stand up and while LeAnn Rimes's version is a studio recording it still packs a lot of punch.
