Spring Has Sprung
Spring arrived early this morning, and can’t you just feel that spring is in the air? Well, as we all know, when you live in central New York the seasons and the calendar don’t always line up weather-wise.

According to “The Old Farmer’s Almanac 2013″, today the vernal equinox occurs.
So what is the vernal equinox? According to almanac.com:
“Spring begins with the vernal equinox at 7:02 A.M. (EDT) on March 20, 2013 in the Northern Hemisphere.
This season brings increasing daylight, warming temperatures, and the rebirth of flora and fauna.
The word equinox is derived from the Latin words meaning “equal night.” Days and nights are approximately equal everywhere and the Sun rises and sets due east and west.”
