Snowmobile Goes Up in Flames in Upstate New York

A snowmobile went up in flames in Upstate New York. Several snowmobilers came across what was left of the sled in the Tug Hill region over the weekend.

Another snowmobile fire was caught on video by Gregory Briggs who came across the sled at Chestnut Ridge Park in Orchard Park New York on the Hamburg Snowmobile Club Trails.

Robert A. Luthart's friend owned the sled on the Hamburg trail and says the fire started after the fuel line ruptured. "His son was riding it and said flames shot out near his right foot. Within seconds the entire machine was engulfed. The scariest part is his 2 year-old niece was on it earlier that day. thank God it did not happen then," says Luthart.

Luckily no one was hurt in either snowmobile fire.
