We can already see the grass in Copenhagen, New York. Last year at this time, the "Snowiest place in America" was buried in the white stuff.

Last winter, Copenhagen, New York received more than 21 feet of snow, making it the snowiest place in the US.  In fact, the tiny upstate town received even more snow than all of Alaska and the Rocky Mountains.

Everyone was talking about Copenhagen, New York a year ago. The small village made National and International new stories, and the Los Angeles Times even sent a reporter to the area to see all of the snow. Meteorologists all the way from Copenhagen, Denmark were talking about the massive amounts of snow that the village received.

Lake effect snow from Lake Ontario usually hammers Copenhagen with tons of snow. This season however, locals are wondering where all the snow went. According to New York Upstate. com:

El Niño has outmuscled the polar vortex, pushing warm air to Upstate New York. Copenhagen has had only about half as much snow so far as this time last winter. The sidewalks and streets are clear, and brown grass pokes through the thin blanket of snow that remains in the fields.

No complaints on our end; the sooner spring gets here the better!

Naomi has some winter fun!
