Mayor Robert Palmieri has declared a Snow Emergency for the City of Utica that will go into effect at 10:00 tonight and will remain in effect until further notice.

Any vehicles left on city streets after 10:00 will be subject to ticketing and towing at the owners expense.

Palmieri says DPW crews began plowing at 11 p.m New Year's Day and they've been proactive as possible in minimizing the effect the snow will have on travelers.

There are also  Snow Emergencies in the Villages of Frankfort, Herkimer, Mohawk and Ilion.
