Signs Of Peace–Zach’s Weekly Snaps
I'm a man of peace. So, when I see something peace related, I get excited. And, it seems in recent years, the whole peace movement has come back full-circle. When you go to the store, you see shirts with peace signs on them, you see backpacks with peace signs, I even see baby clothes with peace signs on them. Don't get me wrong, I love seeing peace signs, but it makes me even more happy to see signs of peace in places you wouldn't normally expect to see them. It's like a little surprise every time you discover one. I decided to hit the streets and look for signs of peace. The above picture was taken under a bridge in Rochester, NY. You'll see as you scroll down the top part of the bridge, which also has a sign of peace on it. I would like to share with you my snaps. This week's theme–Signs of Peace.
"The Peace Bridge"
This is a picture of, what I like to call, "The Peace Bridge" in Rochester--well, more specifically, Penfield. The above picture was a sign of peace under the bridge. This picture is actually on the bridge itself. The bridge not only has the peace sign under it and the words "peace" written on it, the bridge also reads, "NO DRAFT" (that part cannot be seen in the photograph here). Although I don't know the exact history of the bridge, I'm going to make a guess the "NO DRAFT" and word "Peace", which is pictured, was done, possibly, in the 70s. But, I'm not a historian, so I'm not exactly sure. This is a very memorable landmark for me, so I took the snap to remember it.
I took this photo because I love the message: make peace. I see it as whether you making personal peace or have bigger aspiration and are working towards world peace, just make peace. This snap was taken in Utica.
Here's another sign of peace from the Utica area. And, it's another great message. It reads: "In The Streets, World Peace". I really like this snap not only because of the message, but also because of the colors.
