Sign Up For The 2017 Herkimer County Humane Society Poker Ride
Last year’s ride raised over $6,000 for the Herkimer County Humane Society, and you could help make this year’s ride even bigger.
Join members and volunteers of the Humane Society on August 26 for a poker run with great prizes, live entertainment, food, raffles and of course animals.
Registration for the ride will be held on august 26, from 8:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. at the Ilion Elks Club on the corner of West and Main Streets. The first 100 to register will get a free t-shirt and helmet sticker.
Shelter dogs will be there looking for their forever homes along with pictures and information of adoptable animals and other shelter success stories.
All street legal transportation will be eligible to ride with a $25 donation from the driver and a $15 donation for each passenger. Each driver and passenger will then get coffee and doughnuts in the morning, lunch, dinner, a poker hand and a chance to win a $100 gift certificate from Melfe’s Shoes in Ilion.
The ride will end at the St. Francis Dipoala Society in Frankfort with a dinner by Brooks BBQ, 50/50 raffle, basket raffles and live music from The Posers.
Prizes for the poker run are $250 for the best hand, $150 for second best and $100 for biggest loser.
All proceeds from the day will go directly to the Herkimer County Humane Society.
If you would like to ride for free, you can have friends and family pledge to donate your fee for the ride. You can pick up a pledge sheet at the Herkimer County Humane Society or any of the advanced sale ticket locations below.
You can also choose to attend just the dinner for a $10 donation. This will also get you an entry into the $100 Melfe’s gift certificate raffle.
Advance tickets for the ride, dinner and 50/50 raffle are available at Melfe’s Shoes in Ilion, the Ilion Elks Club and the Herkimer County Humane Society.
The annual ride is held in memory of Scott Fifield of Ilion, who was killed in a motorcycle accident in August 2004. Scott was a huge animal lover and supporter of the Herkimer County Humane Society.
