Should fast food workers get $15 an hour? That's the debate in Albany as the wage board meets this month to discuss raising the minimum wage?

New York's minimum wage is currently $8.75 and will reach $9.00 by the end of the year but fast food workers are fighting for $15.

The wage board will meet July 13th to deliberate on the increase but it's Governor Cuomo's Labor Commission that will accept, deny or modify the recommendation. A final decision is expected by the end of the month.

If the $15 an hour wage is approved for fast food workers they would be making more, without a college education, than men and women who put their lives on the line every day.

Firefighters - $11
Ambulance drivers - $12
E4 Army Specialist - $13

Everyone should be given a fair wage but employees standing on the food line shouldn't make more than the one's who stand on the front lines.
