The terror gripping the city of Boston, and the country as a whole, has come to an end.

Dzhokar Tsarnaev, 19, was taken into custody shortly before nine last night, after law enforcement locked down the city and performed a door-to-door search for the suspect.

It wasn't until yesterday evening, when a homeowner noticed a retention strap had been cut on the tarp covering his backyard boat, that authorities knew where Tsarnaev was hiding. The homeowner called the police to report the incident, and law enforcement quickly swarmed in to set up a perimeter, surrounding Tsarnaev.

The teenager had reportedly been weakened because of blood loss. Authorities say the injuries may have occurred during a gun fight the night before, in which his brother, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, was killed.

In response to Monday's Boston Marathon bombing, police in New York are taking extra precautions with a pair of road races in Manhattan. Cameras, police dogs and other equipment will be used, and runners will only be allowed to bring in clear, plastic bags.
