Seasonal Brews Now In Season
August 26, 2011 2:10 PM The Frog Days of Summer are coming to a close, but autumn has plenty to look forward to. You may know that as a former F.X. Matt Brewery employee (tour guide during my college days), I have a keen interest in all that goes on and comes out of our local brewery. And now that we’re in late August, two seasonal favorites are back and on sale from Saranac.
Look for Saranac Octoberfest lager and Pumpkin Ale at your supermarket, and it’s worth the search. According to F.X. Matt Brewery’s website, here are product descriptions:
Saranac Octoberfest
“Saranac Octoberfest is a med-bodied, copper colored lager. It’s rich, malty taste is subtly balanced by Saaz and Tettnang hops. The beer is aged slowly in the tradition of the Octoberfest beers of Munich.”
Saranac Pumpkin Ale
“Saranac Pumpkin Ale is brewed with Pumpkin, Cinnamon, Allspice, Cloves, Ginger and Vanilla. Look for a full-body and amber color.”
