School Teacher Sues School District On Grounds That She Fears Children

A suburban Cincinnati, Ohio school teacher is suing her school district on ground that she fears children. OK, what’s wrong with this picture. A school teacher who fears kids. Apparently this isn’t as crazy as story as it sounds. Read on and find out why.
The story, as reported by Cincinnati.com, explains.
Maria C. Waltherr-Willard, 61, of Greenhills says the district in which she worked for 35 years discriminated against her when it reassigned her in 2010 from its high school to its junior high and then pressured her to resign. The suit claims the discrimination is based on her age and her disability, a rare phobia called pedophobia, which in this context means an extreme fear or anxiety around young children.

Still, one has to wonder why someone would choose a career in teaching if there was any possibility that the students you would be teaching were small children. So far the judge hearing the case has dismissed 3 of her 6 claims with a possible trial date for the others set for February 2014.
