School Merger Vote In The Valley Today
September 12, 2012 2:00 PM If you live in the Valley, today is an important day as you have a chance to vote on a proposed merger of three school districts.
Here are the details from our sister station, WIBX:
“Should three Mohawk Valley school districts become one?
Residents in the Herkimer, Ilion and Mohawk School Districts will decide that issue today.
An advisory referendum or straw vote is taking place today.
If the referendum is approved, a binding or final vote will take place on October 18th.
Should all three communities vote yes, the merger would take effect next school year.
Polls will be open today from noon to 8:00.”
