Saranac Spices Up Summer With Lemon Ginger
As a former F.X. Matt Brewery tour guide, I like to stay on top of what’s brewing, afer all, beer is thicker than water. Now, a new brew for the “Frog Days Of Summer” from Saranac…Lemon Ginger Saison.

That sounds like a mouth full, and I’m sure it is. Here are details from saranac.com:
“The F.X. Matt Brewing Co., brewer of Saranac, announced the newest beer in its limited-edition Saranac High Peaks series – Saranac Lemon Ginger, a unique version of a traditional Belgian style beer called Saison.
Saranac Lemon Ginger uses lemon and ginger to create a twist on a classic European style brew. Saison is traditionally considered a “farmhouse” ale, a lighter beer that could be enjoyed every day. F.X. Matt Brewery’s Saranac Lemon Ginger pushes the style with its Saison recipe by creating a higher alcohol content and adding more spices to present a light, floral beer for the summer season.
Saranac brewers use traditional Belgian-grown Saison yeast, which is the source of the fruit-filled overtone and estery aroma. Real lemon peels and ginger spices accentuate the unique flavor of this beer, giving it added kick. The brewers also combined German Saphir, U.S. Vanguard and Czech Saaz hops to enhance the aromatic flavor of Saranac Lemon Ginger. Wheat malt is added to round out the recipe to create this flavorful and refreshing summer beer.”
