Thanks to a generous donation from Buttenschon Christmas Tree Farm, CNY residents can get a free Christmas tree.

If you or anyone you know is a little tight on funds as the Holidays approach, you know that sometimes you just have to go without.

This year, you won't have to go without a Christmas tree.

The Salvation Army of Rome has 100 trees donated by Buttenschon Christmas Tree Farm that they are giving away to local families.

You can contact the Salvation Army of Rome for a tree at 336-4260, or according to their Facebook page, simply head over to their location at 410 W. Dominick st in Rome and pick one up.

The trees are behind the building, and the Salvation Army says to help yourself. Please only one tree per family.

The Salvation Army is also looking for bell-ringers this season. If you're interested in donating your time, visit SalvationArmy.org.
