A Rochester area man is recovering from second and third degree burns over 30% of his body after his car exploded. It happened at a gas station after vapors ignited from a gas can inside the car.

Moments after the man opened the car door, the explosion knocked him out onto the parking lot. He's seen rolling around on the ground to put the flames out.

The explosion was caught on the gas station camera just after midnight on Wednesday July 15th.

The fire spread from the car to the front of the building, causing some damage, according to CNYCentral.com.

The man, who's name has not been released, is at the Strong Memorial Hospital.
