The Ride For Missing Children takes place today.  It's the biggest annual fundraiser for the National Center of Missing & Exploited Children in the region.  Be sure to take a moment today to applaud or honk your appreciation as they ride by.

There are three purposes of The Ride:
• To honor the memory of all missing children

• To raise public awareness of the plight of all missing and exploited children and the need for child safety education

• To raise funds to support the missing children poster distribution, community education for the prevention of child abduction and sexual exploitation, and the mission of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children – New York/Mohawk Valley (NCMEC-NY/Mohawk Valley)

The ride has grown steadily each year with over 430 riders in 2011. There are now five rides for Missing Children in New York State. In 2010, The Ride for Missing Children expanded our reach to extend beyond New York State’s borders to Fort Smith, AK.
