Recertify Your NYS Pistol Permit With This Simple Online Form

If you have a pistol permit here in New York State, new laws require you to update your license every five years. This simple online application makes it easier than ever.

New York State Police created the online registration form where you can quickly renew your firearms permit.

If you were issued your permit on or before January 15, 2013, your deadline to recertify is January 31, 2018.

If you were issued your license after January 15, 2013, your deadline is five years from the date on your permit.

Troopers want to remind all pistol/revolver permit holders that failing to recertify will result in losing your permit.

As part of the recertification process, you must confirm that you are not prohibited from possessing firearms under state and federal law, and must also confirm certain personal information, as well as provide details about the pistols and/or revolvers you own.
