The recent storms may cause headaches for your ride in this morning. A number of roads are flooded or closed causing several school delays and closings.

Poland Central School is CLOSED
New York Mills CLOSED - staff must report at 10am
Madison Central Schools CLOSED
Hughes Elementary in New Hartford is CLOSED to due a power outage.  Staff still must report.
Sauquoit Valley Central CLOSED

Flooded roads include portions of the arterial in Utica.
Oneida Street, Kellogg Road and Chapman Road in New Hartford are impassable. The New Hartford police department are asking residents to avoid unnecessary travel within the Town and Villages of New Hartford.
Commercial Drive from Joe Tahan's to past Symeon's is CLOSED.
Route 8 and 28 are also closed as well as Route 69 in Camden.
Main Street and parts of Oriskany Boulevard in Whitesboro are closed
Route 5 between 5B and Route 233 is now closed

Listeners have been calling all morning, informing us of other road problems including, portions of North Genessee Street in Utica and parts of the Parkway by MVCC are all under water.

Also, traffic has been reduced to one lane on Main Street in Whitesboro.

A flash flood watch is in effect until two this afternoon.  

The National Weather Service confirmed a tornado touched down in northwest Rome yesterday. Tornado warnings for most of Central New York came across all morning. No word yet if the funnel touched down anywhere.

Use caution when travelling this morning and let us know if you see any flooding in the area. If you come across a flooded road, don't drive through it. Find another way around.

Herkimer County

Officials in Herkimer County are advising residents avoid travel in the Kuyhoora Valley area.

Rt 170 is Herkimer County has been closed, not because of flooding, but downed trees and power lines.

Fishing Rock Road in Middleville and the County Highway in the town of Russia are both closed.

In Frankfort, Higby Road and Albany Street are still open, but there are downed trees and wires in that area, officials said.
