The future of rail bikes in the Adirondacks, which ran in 2015 and 2016 between Saranac Lake and Tupper Lake is uncertain. Although New York State's proposal to replace the railroad with a multi-use trail was rejected, an appeal is expected. Owners Mary Joy Lu & Alex Catchpoole hope to return to the Adirondacks soon. "At Rail Explorers we are hopeful the State's short sighted and misguided plan can be defeated and that Rail Explorers can continue to offer tours along this spectacular historic railroad."
