President’s Week/Mid-Winter Break Recreation Ideas
While some of you may have Monday, February 18th off for Presidents' Day, many school districts have the whole week off as Mid-Winter Break. With the kids home from school for a week, there are two dreaded words parents don't want to hear, "I'm bored". Here's an idea to keep them entertained.
Ice skating. Many of the local ice rinks have special hours for open or family skating. Even if you're not Olympic caliber, ice skating is fun, inexpensive, and not all that difficult. Many rinks rent skates, if you or the kids don't own a pair.
So, if that sounds like a good idea, here a few of the local ice rinks to check out for the Mid-Winter break vacation:
Clinton Arena Ice Skating Rink, 36 Kirkland Ave, Clinton
New Hartford Recreation Center Ice Rink, 1 Mill St., New Hartford
Kennedy Arena, 500 West Embargo St., Rome
Whitestown Ice Arena , 1 Championship Way, Whitesboro
