We all complain about our utility bills, but when emergencies happen, we're glad to have those hard working people on the job. Case in point - this morning, when we lost power in New Hartford at about 6:45 a.m. in that terrible thunderstorm. I called National Grid to report the power outage, and they said it would be restored around 9:00 a.m.

Seeing those lightning bolts and hearing that crashing thunder, I wouldn't want to be one of those power company workers out in the elements trying to restore power. But, they did. And our power was back on at about 8:00 a.m., an hour ahead of their estimated time.

So, I say, thanks to the National Grid line workers on the job, in the storm to get their customers back in service. Hopefully, other areas in central New York that lost power will be back up as well.
