Utica lawmakers are in the process of looking into municipal power for the city. That's an idea that has people talking about possible energy savings.

"The Utica Common Council is moving ahead with a plan to investigate the possibility of bringing municipal power to the city.

The council voting 8-to-0 to form a 10 member panel that will explore the issue.

Councilman Jim Zecca sponsored the legislation, he believes municipal power will help lower energy costs for residents and businesses within the city."
