Polly’s Point – If You Can’s Drive Get off the Road
When you take a road trip you run across all kinds of drivers.
The Techie
With today's technology, talking on the phone doesn't seem so dangerous anymore. Drivers are not only texting but scrolling Facebook or worse, watching videos. Put down the phone and FOCUS on the road!
The Lead Foot
You can find this guy riding your bumper, not realizing if you hit the brakes he'll end up in your passenger seat. He's also the guy weaving in and out of traffic to get one spot further along. You'll usually see him a few miles down the road, sitting on the side with flashing lights behind him.
The Slow Poke
The Sunday driver may just be a cautious driver but if you're out for a Sunday stroll do it in the right lane. The left one isn't left there for your leisure. It's meant for cars to pass that are faster than you.
The Signal Deprived
That thing that sticks out of your steering wheel is called a turn signal. It lets other drivers know where you're going. If you've never used it before be careful. There's two. If your windshield wipers turn on, use the other one.
If you fall into any of these categories, take a driving lesson from the truckers who spend their life on the road. Most know how to share, use their turn signals and obey the traffic laws. Some may even blink their lights if you're kind enough to let them in front of you or want to pull back into the right lane, where you belong after you've passed.
My point is if you can't drive, get off the road!
