Pink Pumpkins Highlight Breast Cancer Awareness Month
This is “Breast Cancer Awareness Month”, and Big Frog 104 would like to share news with you about efforts going on to do just that – raise awareness. Now, a pumpkin grower in Minnesota is offering pink pumpkins this month. While it’s not clear if any local pumpkin sellers have the pink versions, you can always take a can of spray paint and create one of your own. And, click here for our Big Frog 104 Breast Cancer Awareness effort.

Here’s more from our sister station WIBX:
“The Pink Pumpkin Patch Foundation is hoping to add a new color to the fall palette – pink.
The group is inspiring farmers to grow pink pumpkins for fall instead of the more traditional orange gourds. In addition to providing some interesting fall decor, the pink pumpkins open up even more fun Halloween decorating opportunities, all in an effort to raise awareness about breast cancer.
The organization says there are more than fifty farmers who are participating in the campaign this year. As part of their campaign promise each has pledged to donate twenty-five cents for each pumpkin sold to breast cancer research.
