Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente has issued a travel advisory for all of Oneida County.

Picente says residents should avoid all unnecessary travel.  The advisory is in effect until Monday evening.

UPDATED 2:40 pm- The advisory has been extended and will be in effect until Tuesday evening.

Heavy snowfall rates will likely cause significant travel problems. If you must travel allow extra time to reach your destination, and plan on possible lengthy delays.

A Travel Advisory has been issued by the Madison County Sheriff's Office due to conditions caused by the current lake effect snow event.

Many Madison County roadways are snow covered and slippery, and blowing snow is causing diminished visibility.

There are no travel restrictions, however, caution should be exercised if you must be on the roads.

The advisory will remain in effect until 4:00.
